UpCountry Brewing

Hey there, welcome to UpCountry Brewing! At UpCo we are on a mission to create awesome experiences while sharing our passion for craft beer and for getting outside.

UpCountry Brewing is located in the Lumberyard District of Brevard, NC, an easy walk from downtown. We operate a 3.5 bbl brewery, meaning we only produce 4-6 kegs at a time. Talk about hand crafted!

Originally started in 2016 with a brewery/taproom in Asheville, NC, UpCountry opened a second location in Brevard, NC in 2018. Like many business, COVID changed the way we looked at the business. At the time we operated a full packaging line and eventually reached distribution in all of NC and SC, as well as parts of GA.  But we realized continuing to grow distribution to compete with all the craft "big boys" was just not part of our future vision. So we scaled back, sold the Asheville location, and moved all operations to Brevard. UpCountry beers are now draft only, and only available in our taproom.

So what is that future vision? According to founder John Cochran, "UpCountry is becoming about more than just our beer and our taproom. We want UpCountry to become the way we share our love for this region, its many breweries, and the myriad outdoor activities located all around us.”
